Love Your Neighbor Sunday x Black History Month Edition
In honor of Black History Month, we are gathering as a community on Love Your Neighbor Sunday and hosting an intimate panel discussion with Black artists and community leaders around the theme of "Black Impact.” The hope is that through this conversation, we can continue to learn and educate ourselves on what is happening in our communities and how we as a church can truly love our Black siblings.
Current Sermon Series: Reclaiming Jesus and the Way of Jesus.
Over the past two years, we witnessed Jesus being twisted, distorted and co-opted by Christians and politicians alike to serve an agenda of their own. Enticed by power and greed, many profess the name of Jesus, while looking nothing like Jesus.
Celebrating Black History Month
February is Black History Month, a time to deliberately and intentionally:
Validate the Imago Dei (image of God) within Black people. In doing so, we honor the existence, value, and quality of all Black lives and their experiences.

Every fourth Sunday, instead of going to church, we are intentional about going out into our respective neighborhoods and communities to be the church by loving our neighbor and working together for the common good.
Honoring MLK Day
On Monday, January 17th, we celebrate as a nation Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. As a church that seeks to carry on Dr. King’s legacy and to continue to advance the important and much needed work of racial reconciliation and justice that Dr. King embodied as both a reverend and civil rights activist, we encourage you to find ways to intentionally pause and reflect this upcoming MLK Day holiday.
For those that would like to continue to learn and/or actively participate in community events taking place in and around our region, the University of Washington has curated some MLK Day resources here.
