Holy Week

Contemplate. Reflect. Celebrate.

Palm Sunday

Palm Sunday marks the start of the last week of Jesus’ life and the beginning of Holy Week.

On Sunday, April 13th, we will gather at 3pm in-person and online to contemplate the symbolism of Jesus’ actions of his anti-triumphal entry into Jerusalem on a humble donkey as a form of resisting and subverting empire and how that might shape our perspective and understanding of the significance of Good Friday and Easter Sunday as followers of Jesus.

For those joining in-person, we will be offering a separate CG Kids classroom experience for children and youth per our normal Sunday gathering rhythms.

Good Friday

Good Friday is a day of sorrow and remembrance. It’s an invitation to reflect on the significance of the crucifixion and the death of Jesus Christ on a cross.

Join us in-person only on Friday, April 18th between 7pm and 8:30pm at 4 Tomorrow Safe Parking “Living Room” for a family-friendly self-guided and interactive time of reflection around the Stations of the Cross.

The Stations of the Cross or the Way of the Cross, also known as the Way of Sorrows or the Via Crucis, are a series of fourteen images depicting Jesus Christ on the day of his crucifixion with accompanying prayers. Christian tradition says these events happened leading up to the crucifixion of Jesus. These stations have been used for hundreds of years to contemplate the death and resurrection of Jesus.

Recently, the men on Tennessee’s death row painted their version of the Stations of the Cross. While awaiting their own execution, these men contemplated the state-sanctioned execution of Jesus. We will be displaying these particular images throughout the “Living Room” and you can learn more about the series of paintings here.

As Good Friday this year will be self-guided, you are invited to arrive and participate on your own time anytime between 7pm and 8:30pm. A printed guide booklet will be available to you to lead yourself (and your child/ren if applicable) through the images. Please allow yourself 30 minutes to complete.

Easter Sunday

Invite a friend and join us Sunday, April 20th at 3pm as we celebrate the resurrected Jesus! We’ll be offering a single live-streamed worship experience for the whole family. Worship with us in-person at 4 Tomorrow Safe Parking “Living Room” (515 116th Ave NE Bellevue) or online on our CG app.

Additionally, we will be hosting a special in-person Easter Sunday “Pre-Party & Easter Egg Hunt” with doors opening at 2:30pm. Come early for a time of fellowship, refreshments, and a small Easter Egg hunt for the little ones.

For those joining us live & in-person, kids will be invited to stay with us in the main service as we will not be offering a separate CG Kids class, but instead, will have a special interactive CG Kids Easter reading. We will also have Easter coloring activity books and crayons available for children during service.
